Knicks potential to hire Jay Wright as Tom Thibodeau's replacement explained by Villanova legend's friend image

It's easy for everyone to picture.

Jay Wright on the sideline, coaching Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart. Where have we seen that movie before?

Wright's name popped up almost immediately after the New York Knicks dismissed head coach Tom Thibodeau on Tuesday. It'd be a chance for Wright to reunite with some of the best players he coached at Villanova.

Seth Davis, who knows Wright well after three years working side-by-side on television with the legendary coach, thinks it's time to pump the brakes on that, though.

Here's what Wright posted on Tuesday afternoon:

Well, there you have it. If the Knicks want a quick hiring process, they should just call Davis.

In all seriousness, Wright left coaching for a much cushier TV gig that allows him ample time to pursue other interests. Would he want the craziness that is coaching the Knicks in New York City?

Wright could surely handle it, but if he's not interested, then there's nothing more to it.

That won't stop Knicks fans, and the 'Nova Knicks players, from wishing for a Wright return.
