Houston Rockets superstar Kevin Durant is 36 years old, and it is possible he may not have many years left in his playing career. Durant has a chance to win his third NBA title in his career.

Speaking of winning titles, he won a gold medal with Team U.S.A. during the 2024 Olympics. Is there a chance that he can also play during the 2028 Olympics when the games are in Los Angeles, California? It seems to be an interesting topic because the roster for the 2028 Olympics could look a lot different than the roster during the 2024 Olympics.

Houston Rockets Kevin Durant Plans to Play in the Olympics as Long He Can Stay Healthy

Durant was asked about if he plans on playing during the 2028 Olympics. He said during a panel,

"If I'm still me, I'll play. I don't want to be that veteran that sits on the end of the bench."

It will be interesting to see if Durant will be able to stay healthy over the next three NBA seasons. He is going to be 39 years old by the time the 2028 Olympics roll around. Durant has already won four gold medals with this team already. It would be interesting to see him return and potentially win a fifth gold medal.

Durant is still a prolific scorer in the NBA. During the 2024-25 season, he averaged 26.6 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.2 BPG, and 0.8 SPG. He also shot 52.7% from the field last season. With him being ranked sixth in the NBA in points per game last season, there is no doubt that he could be one of the top scorers in the league once again. For now, Durant appears as if he going to play in the Olympics. This will be worth revisiting in two years from now.
