ESPN's Jonathan Givony didn't hold back.
He called Hugo Gonzalez maybe the "biggest steal" in the 2025 NBA Draft when the Boston Celtics took him No. 28 overall on Wednesday night near the end of the first round.
Gonzalez, a young Spanish wing who played most recently for Real Madrid, is also expected to come immediately to the NBA, per Givony.
Who is Hugo Gonzalez?
Hugo Gonzalez is a 19-year old Spanish forward. He's listed at 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds.
He's now a Boston Celtics wing after being taken 28th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Where is Hugo Gonzalez from?
Hugo Gonzalez was born in Madrid in Spain.
He joined Real Madrid's youth team at 9 years old. He made his senior debut in 2022 at 16 years old.
Gonzalez hadn't fully broken through yet by the time he was drafted, but that's how it works for pretty much every young European player not named Luka Doncic.
In this his draft year, Gonzalez averaged 3.4 points per game.
Givony compared him to Denver's Christian Braun and Miami's Jaime Jaquez. If he turns out like one of them, it's a great find for the Celtics at No. 28.
