The Boston Celtics are facing an unusual season ahead.
They'll be without Jayson Tatum due to a torn Achilles, and so they've got to decide how to approach things. That has included plenty of outside speculation on trade options, including dealing either Jaylen Brown or Derrick White.
ESPN's Shams Charania shared on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday that there have indeed been "crazy offers" for the pair.
But don't worry, Boston fans. The Celtics aren't in a rush to get a deal done.
Charania clarified that it'd take an "insurmountable" offer to get a deal done for either Brown or White.
That's logical from the Celtics' perspective. Trading away their stars now doesn't help their present or their future.
Boston should still be formidable this season even without Tatum, and then when he's back, the Celtics can contend for NBA titles once again.
Could Brown or White turn into an equally talented player from another team or the draft? Possibly. But nothing is a given, and the Celtics know what they have in this duo.
It's fair for other teams to make offers. But it's also reasonable for Boston to quickly reject them.
