And the Melbourne fullback wasn't having a bar of Te Maire Martin's play-acting in the lead-up to the Storm's first try in the Grand Final.
Martin took a bit of a dive when he ran into referee Matt Cecchin just as Josh Addo-Carr took off downfield.
The play was referred to The Bunker, with The Fox being awarded the four-pointer despite the protests of Cowboys players.
The Bunker didn't fall for it, neither did Slater - and the champion fullback had a few words to say to the young playmaker.
Eagle-eyed fans would have spotted Slater giving Martin a proper serve as the Cowboy lay on the deck at ANZ Stadium.
