Cronulla Sharks captain Paul Gallen has admitted that 2017 might not be his last season in the NRL

The 35-year-old veteran has committed to a 2017 campaign with the Sharks despite being close to pulling the pin after the their maiden premiership triumph.

Gallen says he is enjoying pre-season training to the extent that a 2018 NRL season is not out of the question.

"I love the game, I love the training and I'm still here training my backside off in 35 degree heat," Gallen said.

"I enjoy it and it's what I love to do so I'm going to keep doing it for as long as I can."
