Who doesn’t love a grey?
Easy to spot and even easier to cheer, grey horses bring a whole new level of intrigue—and, for many, superstition—to the Melbourne Cup carnival every November.
In total, six grey horses have won the Melbourne Cup in the race’s 165-year history, with the most recent being Efficient in 2007.
Greys even saluted two years in a row during in the 1970s, with Baghdad Note and Silver Knight taking out the 1970 and 1971 editions of the race that stops the nation respectively.
