Ryder Cup leaderboard 2025: Updated results, standings from USA vs. Europe at Bethpage Black image

The Ryder Cup is one of golf’s most competitive events, and the 2025 edition comes to New York.

Bethpage Black will host the team showdown between Team USA and Team Europe, promising an electric atmosphere fueled by rowdy New York fans. Europe enters the tournament with plenty of confidence, aiming to win a road Ryder Cup for the fourth time since 1995 and bringing back 11 of the 12 players who claimed victory two years ago.

This year's event has no shortage of storylines, from USA captain Keegan Bradley opting not to play to Europe's quest to repeat. With Team USA hosting, Bradley and his vice captains have the chance to set up the course and schedule they want for the entire weekend.

Here's a look at the updated standings in the 2025 Ryder Cup.

In the Ryder Cup, there are 28 total matches over three days, including team matches and single events. Teams earn a point by winning a match and half-a-point for matches that end in ties.

As the defending champion, Europe needs 14 points to retain the cup, with the 2023 result serving as a tiebreaker. Team USA must earn 14.5 points to reclaim the Ryder Cup.

Foursomes

The format for Friday and Saturday morning is foursomes, also known as alternate shot. In this format, teams of two will take turns playing one ball, with each duo alternating shots on every hole — one golfer tees off on odd-numbered holes and the other on even-numbered holes.

In each match, the team with the lowest score wins the hole in match play, and the hole is halved if the teams tie.

Four-ball

In the afternoons, teams will play a four-ball format. These sessions will also feature teams of two, but every player will play their own ball in the match, thus there will be four balls in play. The lowest score for every hole wins that hole with halves for tied holes, once again in match play style.
