Tottenham are facing fresh competition in their pursuit of Vasco da Gama forward Rayan after Chelsea and Brighton began monitoring the teenager closely in Brazil according to SportsWitness.
The-19-year old striker has quickly settled himself as one of Vasco’s brightest talents after becoming a regular under coach Fernando Diniz during the 2025 season where he scored 12 goals across four competitions while also recording one assist in 42 matches.
Rayan’s emergence has already drawn international recognition since he represented Brazil’s under 17 team in 2022 where he scored two goals in four matches against Chile and Paraguay which confirmed his reputation as a striker capable of producing at youth level.
Reportedly, Tottenham have invested time in scouting him directly with representatives sent to watch multiple games in Brazil and they also contacted the Brazilian Football Confederation to check the likelihood of Rayan earning a senior call up which is considered important for work permit eligibility in England.
Chelsea and Brighton have now entered the picture with both clubs looking to strengthen their attacking depth with younger options while keeping close attention on the player’s progress at Vasco.
Interest is not limited to England since Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg have already made a bid and Barcelona’s scouts have also been seen following his games in South America.
