Real Madrid are already planning their next signings, with Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate high on the list.

Xabi Alonso is also interested in some younger players, with the manager already trusting Franco Mastantuono on the biggest stage.

Real are now in a race against Premier League giants Chelsea to secure the signature of a 19-year-old.

Which prodigy is Real Madrid chasing?

According to Defensa Central, Real want to reach an agreement for Dutch sensation Kees Smit before Chelsea can.

Real have been monitoring the teenager, but with interest from Chelsea, the club is stepping up their pursuit.

Smit was reportedly close to a move to Madrid over the summer, but with Dani Ceballos staying at Real, Smit's move was pushed off.

Alonso and Real's hierarchy are now working to close a deal for Smit as fast as they can, with Real not wanting to lose out on their target.

Smit has played in four games for AZ Alkmaar this season and has already secured two assists.

Real see Smit as a great investment for their midfield, with the Dutchman being one of the biggest emerging talents.
