FULLTIME Venezuela 1-0 Australia
A last gasp free kick for Socceroos leads to nothing, and Venezuela are able to dribble out the remaining seconds of stoppage time to hold onto a 1-0 victory. The result marks Australia's second defeat in a row.
A disappointing night for the Socceroos.
90th+1 min: That would've been something! Al Hassan Toure tries to pull off a bicycle kick goal on debut, but it's well wide. Only minutes remain now and although the Socceroos have been pushing for an equaliser with some recent attacks, they may have left their run too late.
89th min: Riley McGree is brought down on the edge of the box. Callum Elder takes the free kick, but it's disappointing one. Rolls along the ground into the clutches of Contreras.
87th min: An ensuing corner for the Socceroos is delivered well into the box, but Contreras rises and makes sure nothing comes of it,
86th min: Chance, Australia! The Toure brothers have been on the end of the Aussies' best chances tonight, with Al Hassan testing Contreras on a somewhat difficult angle, but the save is a good one.
78th min: Some more changes, and another debutant for the Aussies, as Al Hassan Toure comes on for Nestory Irankunda, and Jackson Irvine replaces Paul Okon-Engstler. Venezuela also make a change.
75th min: Lots of passing play by Venezuela. Just looking to break down the Socceroos and pounce. Australia can't let this go on for too much longer. They need possession back if they are to win, or at least equalise.
66th min: A couple more changes for the Socceroos as Mo Toure and Connor Metcalfe are replaced by Martin Boyle and Riley McGree.
62nd min: If you're a Socceroos fan you would be hoping they have another level to go to. Venezuela look very comfortable out in front right now, and Australia have hardly tested them.
55th min: Venezuela not getting complacent, very much looking to extend their lead early in the second half here. Been a busy debut for Patrick Beach in goal.
Second half kickoff: And we're back!
The Socceroos have made one change at the changeover. Callum Elder is in for Craig Goodwin.
HALFTIME: Venezuela 1-0 Australia
Perhaps a bit surprising, but the score is probably true to how the game has been played in the first half. Venezuela have controlled possession, although the Socceroos have arguably had the more promising opportunities.
Venezuela are able to make the most of theirs though in the 38th minute, and as a result they lead heading into halftime.
45th min: Three minutes of additional time announced for this first half.
43rd min: The change will be made, with Cameron Burgess replacing Jason Geria.
42nd min: The Socceroos might be forced into an early changed themselves here, with Jason Geria down.
38th min: GOAL! VENEZUELA! Echonique recovers well for a creative bit of play before he centres it to Ramirez right in front of goal, who is able to finish the simple tap-in to give his country the lead. Nothing Patrick Beach can do about that, but for the first time in a while, he won't have a clean sheet at the end of this one.
37th min: Yellow card! Nestory Irankunda brings down Echonique late in a challenge that sees the referee show yellow for the first time today. Not a lot in it, but probably a fair adjudication from the ref.
30th min: Luis Balbo tried to play through the pain, but half an hour into his international debut he's going to have to exit in heartbreaking circumstances. Alessandro Milani enters the game for him.
28th min: Could be set to pick up here! The Socceroos have started to press and it immediately forces Venezuela into a turnover in their back half, which could've manifested into a goal for Australia on the counter.
22nd min: A stoppage in play here as Luis Balbo is down on the ground holding his knee. An early substitution could be on the cards.
17th min: Chance, Venezuela! Quick reflexes from Patrick Beach in goal denies Venezuela finding the back of a net from a point blank header!
14th min: Ramirez fires a shot on target, but it doesn't get past Patrick Beach who makes his first save of his international career.
13th min: Not a lot happening. Venezuela have had a lot of possession, but not much to show for it as of yet.
4th min: Chance, Australia! It goes up the other end, and Mohamed Toure was inches away from putting it away. Puts Quintero on his backside before nearly putting the ball through the legs of the keeper, but Contreras' foot saves the day for Venezeula.
3rd min: A quick start from Venezuela. Balbo fires a shot at goal but it's wide-left for the debutant.
Kickoff: We are underway!

It's a new era in Venezuela, after they sacked coach Fernando Batista in September, following the team's failure to qualify for next year's World Cup.
In his absence, interim coach Fernando Aristeguieta has stepped up. He has gone with a relatively inexperienced and youthful squad for this window of friendlies.
Venezuela squad: Not confirmed.
The call-up of Manchester United teenager James Overy was perhaps the most surprising, yet notable inclusion for the Socceroos' upcoming friendlies. He's a chance to debut over these next two games.
Also in the mix to debut is Melbourne City pair Patrick Beach and Kai Trewin, Hibernian defender Jack Iredale and Sydney FC duo Al Hassan Toure and Paul Okon-Engstler.
Socceroos squad: Max Balard, Patrick Beach, Martin Boyle, Cameron Burgess, Miloš Degenek,, Craig Goodwin, Jason Geria, Nestory Irankunda, Jack Iredale, Paul Izzo, James Overy, Paul Okon-Engstler, Aiden O'Neill, Connor Metcalfe, Riley McGree, Lewis Miller, Cameron Devlin, Nicholas D'Agostino, Mohamed Toure, Al Hassan Toure, Kye Rowles, Kai Trewin, Callum Elder, Mat Ryan.
