Liverpool continue their hunt for form both domestic and abroad as they travel to France to meet Marseille in their penultimate league phase match of the Champions League campaign.
The Reds sit 11th in the league phase table, just one point off the coveted top eight spots that earn a bye to the Round of 16. Should they fall short of that, they would be required to earn their place in the Round of 16 by contesting a knockout playoff matchup.
After seemingly rescuing their early-season slide, Liverpool are struggling for results once again, having drawn each of their past four Premier League matches.
Their opponents Marseille sit third in the Ligue 1 table, with two defeats in their last four domestic games. They reside 16th in the league phase table, likely out of top eight contention and just two points above potential elimination.

Marseille vs. Liverpool live updates, highlights from Champions League match
1 hour to kickoff: Lineups are in! Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is indeed IN the starting lineup, as the process of repairing the relationship with Arne Slot seems well on its way.
The Marseille XI also provides some interesting surprises. There's no Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who begins the match on the bench, with Algerian striker Amine Gouiri alongside Mason Greenwood up top. With natural right-back Amir Murillo starting and American wide star Tim Weah also in, it's hard to tell whether Roberto De Zerbi is deploying his favoured 3-4-3 or what could end up looking like a 4-4-2.
1 hour 15 mins to kick: Wowzers, Marseille's pre-match hype video for this game is sensational. Chills! The Champions League is a competition like none other.

1 hour 30 mins to kick: With just two matches to go in the Champions League league phase, a bit of scoreboard watching isn't a sin at this point.
Liverpool fans especially will be hoping those around them in the chase for the top eight slip up. That includes Atletico Madrid, who are currently level with Galatasaray thanks to a horrific own-goal which leveled the score at 1-1, currently at the halftime break. A draw in that game would be hugely helpful for the Reds, who entered today on 12 points, the same as Atleti.

2 hours to kickoff: Liverpool fans will learn a lot today about how welcome Mohamed Salah is within the Liverpool squad.
The Egyptian has returned from AFCON duties and is with the team ahead of this match. He spoke out against Arne Slot and Liverpool hierarchy in explosive fashion just before departing for international competition, and now that he has returned and the dust settled somewhat, we'll find out where he fits in the team.
If Salah starts today, it is probably water under the bridge. If not, he may have to earn his way back into the team.
🚨🗣️ Arne Slot on a possible 'fresh start' with Mohamed Salah: "One moment I decided not to play Mo and one when I decided not to take him to the game, all others I brought him in, never been an issue with me."

Marseille vs. Liverpool lineups, team news
The Marseille squad is largely healthy, allowing Roberto De Zerbi to pick a first-choice XI.
Their only absence is down to the AFCON, as Nayef Aguerd is believed to be absent as the Moroccan gets rest after a run to the final of the competition on home soil.
Marseille starting lineup (3-4-3): Rulli (GK) — Pavard, Balerdi, Medina — Kondogbia, Hojbjerg, Traore — Weah, Gouiri, Greenwood.
Marseille subs: De Lange (GK), Van Neck (GK), Doubal, Egan-Riley, Gomes, Vermeeren, Nadir, Bakola, O'Riley, Mmadi, Paixao, Aubameyang.
Liverpool are still missing Alexander Isak who will remain sidelined for months with a broken leg, while Conor Bradley is done for the year with a knee injury.
They are also without Ibrahima Konate as the French defender has returned to his home country for family reasons. It's possible he links up with the squad in Marseille but unlikely.
Liverpool starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Alisson (GK) — Frimpong, Gomez, van Dijk, Kerkez — Gravenberch, Mac Allister — Szoboszlai, Jones, Wirtz — Ekitike.
Liverpool subs: Mamardashvili (GK), Woodman (GK), Robertson, Nyoni, Endo, Jones, Gakpo, Chiesa, Ngumoha.
