Manchester City were ousted from the Club World Cup after extra time against Saudi side Al-Hilal. The club was enjoying a fantastic run after securing the top spot in their group.
City ran rampant against Juventus, winning 5-2, and felt confident coming into the match against their Saudi opponents.
The Mancunian side fell 3-4 after 120 minutes in Orlando. The loss means City have more time to rest and regroup ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
City captain Bernardo Silva scored the opening goal, but City failed to do enough to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.

Silva spoke after the match and opened up about the game and the feelings surrounding the loss. He said, "No one wanted to lose. We had a lot of ambition for this Club World Cup and we wanted to win it."

City were one of the favorites coming into the tournament, and their performances before the loss seemed to show the side meant business during the tournament.
When asked if the Club World Cup loss hurts the same way a Champions League exit does, Silva said, "Yes, a little bit. Yes."
Silva spoke on what City did wrong, saying "We allowed them to run away too many times.
"We were expecting another difficult game like Juventus and when you don't control transitions then good players, like Al-Hilal have, punish you. That's what happened."
