Bayern Munich kick-started their UEFA Champions League campaign in style with a dominant 3-1 win over the reigning Club World Cup champions Chelsea at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
The Blues were undone by a Harry Kane brace and a Trevoh Chalobah own goal as Cole Palmer's only goal in the game ended as a consolation.
Kane continued his fine form in front of goal as he dispatched a penalty in the first half and later scored another from open play in the second half.
Apart from his goals, it was his work ethic that impressed Vincent Kompany and most football fans and pundits all across the world.
He dropped deep, helped out the Bayern Munich backline in moments of pressure and then ventured forward and kept the centre-back pairing of Tosin Adarabioyo and Chalobah on their toes throughout the game.
With yet another brace, the 32-year-old has raced through to 10 goals this season in six appearances across competitions. He has been involved in a goal in every 39 minutes this season.
