Bayern Munich chief reveals plan to replace star forward linked with Saudi Arabia move image

Bayern Munich are on the verge of losing another key forward this summer following the departures of Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller.

The Bavarians may have reclaimed the Bundesliga last season, but they need to upgrade in order to maintain their kingpin status in Germany and challenge for the UEFA Champions League in 2025/26.

However, they could lose another star before the end of August, with losing Kingsley Coman reportedly agreeing personal terms with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr.

Led by Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Jesus, Al Nassr are keen to build a super team to claim the Saudi title and attracting more huge names to the Middle East.

After securing Inigo Martinez from Barcelona on a free transfer, Jesus is keen to lure Coman away from Bavaria.

Coman was previously approached by Saudi Pro League teams, but due to his importance under Vincent Kompany, he decided to stay in Munich.

However, it now looks likely the France international has made up his mind - and as per BILD - Al Nassr have tabled a bid worth €30m [$35m] for the 29-year-old winger.

If Coman makes the move to Saudi Arabia, Bayern will be left with - Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, Serge Gnabry, Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike to cover across both flanks, ahead of a demanding campaign

Karl and Mike are teenage academy graduates with little to no experience at the highest level.

What did Herbert Hainer say about Coman?

Bayern Munich bosses, including President Herbert Hainer, have sat down to discuss their transfer plans and they have reportedly decided no urgent signings are required after the swoop for Diaz.

However, things have taken a drastic turn in the last few days with Al Nassr's move for Coman gaining pace and Bayern Munich now possibly looking at replacements.

When asked about Coman's possible departure to Saudi Arabia, Hainer told Merkur, "I don't want to comment on names or speculation. In general, I can say we're very happy with our squad. We've achieved what we wanted with Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof, we signed two German internationals on a free.

"With Díaz we were able to fill the gap on the left wing. Now we have the luxury to see what happens on the market in the next three weeks. If a player wants to leave, of course we'll sit down with him and speak - and then react accordingly."

However, when asked about replacements, Hainer remained tight-lipped, "As I said, I don't want to participate in speculation. But if a player wants to go, we'll assess the advantages and disadvantages and what it means for Bayern."

Coman joined Bayern Munich in 2015 from Juventus, initially on loan, before a permanent switch in 2017.

He has featured in 339 games for Bayern Munich, with 72 goals, the most important being the one scored in the 2020 Champions League final against PSG.

That famous goal guided Bayern Munich to a historic trophy treble under former manager Hansi Flick.

The Parisian has also won nine Bundesliga titles, three DFB Pokal crowns, six DFL Supercups and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2020.
