Bayern Munich had a frustrating summer transfer window as they could only sign four players including Nicolas Jackson's loan deal on deadline day.
Other signings this summer include the free transfers of Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof, and the big money move for Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
While fans and even players were skeptical about Bayern Munich's squad depth issues, there were reports suggesting that the supervisory board has only approved of loan moves to Max Eberl, who was overlooking the transfer dealings.
It was an extremely tough job for Eberl to seek only loan moves that too, late in the transfer window and after a lot of drama and a hefty loan fee, they somehow signed Jackson.
Even with the Senegalese forward's inclusion, Vincent Kompany has dearth of options in attack and will be forced to incorporate youth academy graduates like Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike.
Recently, Bayern Munich honorary president touched upon a lot of topics surrounding transfers this summer where he addressed the approval of only loan moves late in the window.

He emphasized how focusing on finances of the club is as important as the sporting success in Bavaria whilst taking a dig at Barcelona's financial constraints.
"He would have liked to buy a player, but we know our cash position," Uli Hoeness told Sport1 about Eberl's transfer dealings this summer.
"In the end, that's just as important as sporting success. Barcelona sends its regards. If you buy, buy, buy... Suddenly you have 1.2 billion euros in debt. See you later.
"Eberl often argued like mad with [board member] Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, but when the door closed behind us, it was okay again, Max is quite sensitive in that regard."
What did Uli Hoeness say about Max Eberl's future at Bayern Munich?
Eberl has been in the firing line at Bayern because of their poor transfer dealings as the German champions struggled to secure their priorities this summer.
Hoeneß on his 'loan only' policy at the end of the window: "There are different opinions. Max would have liked to buy, but we [supervisory board] have to pay attention to our financial situation. After the window was over, there were rumours of Eberl handing a resignation from his position in Bavaria as he was not allowed to work on his own terms.
Addressing Eberl's resignation rumours, Hoeness stated, "A tough job certainly leads to arguments. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and I often argued, but afterward things were always fine.
"Max [Eberl] is a bit more sensitive in that regard. One thing is clear, making transfers at the end of August is never a good idea and always expensive. I also gave Max this advice: 'it's better to make the transfers in June and July when other clubs haven't really started yet'. In the last 2-3 weeks things become difficult.
"There's no Max Eberl transfer, Uli Hoeness transfer or Karl-Heinz Rummenigge transfer. There are only Bayern Munich transfers."
Overall, it will be interesting to see how Kompany works around with the options available to him right now.
Bayern currently have three important players on the sidelines including Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito and Jamal Musiala.
The three players are likely to return to full fitness in November allowing Kompany with more freedom and options in different areas.
