Bayern Munich are in dire straits in the summer transfer window as they are weighing options to sign a new left-winger. The Bavarians lost Florian Wirtz, who is close to joining Liverpool and they may also lose out on Leroy Sane, who is out of contract and is yet to accept Bayern's contract extension terms.
Therefore, the German giants are keen on bringing a high-profile left winger to accompany the likes of Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise to form a solid trio playing behind Harry Kane.
Bayern have been looking at several wingers recently but one name that has struck a chord with them has been AC Milan's Rafael Leao. As per reports via journalist Nicolo Schira, the Bavarians are willing to offer €60 million (£50m/$68m) as their opening bid.
Some reports suggest that they are also open to adding a player in the deal to bring the fee down. The clubs will be in direct contact to negotiate a deal in the coming weeks for the Portuguese winger.
Milan are in a financial turmoil and having finished eighth in the Serie A points table, it puts them in further problematic situation with no European football for the upcoming season. Still the Rossoneri have managed to convinced Massimiliano Allegri for the managerial role.
They are already on the verge of selling Tijjani Reijnders, who is closely linked with Manchester City. The Dutchman was one of the best players for a not so good Milan team. Therefore, they are looking hold out a big fee for Leao as there's a lot of interest in the 25-year-old.

Could Bayern bring the transfer fee down by adding a player in the deal?
As per recent reports, Milan are keen to strengthen their defence under Allegri, and they have identified Bayern defender Kim Min-jae as the perfect signing. Meanwhile Bayern have slapped a minimum €30 million price tag on the South Korean.

So, there's a possibility that Bayern Munich could add Kim in the Leao deal and bring the asking down to a reasonable range which will benefit both teams.
A week ago, Bayern Munich club legend Lothar Matthaus suggested Leao's name for the Bavarians in his Sky Sports column. He highlighted how Leao's versatility could surely benefit Bayern Munich in the long run.
However, the 25-year-old's current contract runs until 2028 and therefore they are in no hurry to sell him. Hence, any team trying to secure his signature would need a fortune to land Leao. As a report from Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan have set a €130 million initial price tag for the Portuguese winger.
Leao was one of the bright lights in a season where Milan overall struggled. He finished the season with 12 goals and 10 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. However, this was his lowest output in the last four seasons.
