Arsenal vs. Atletico Madrid lineups: Predicted starting XI, team news, injury latest for UEFA Champions League image

Arsenal are chasing a milestone moment on Tuesday as they host Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

A win at Emirates Stadium would not only keep their perfect start alive but also mark their 100th victory in Europe's top competition.

Mikel Arteta's men have looked sharp in Europe so far, beating Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos 2-0 over the first two matchdays.

The Gunners have won 11 straight Champions League home games without conceding a goal, and confidence is high after another narrow but controlled Premier League win over Fulham at the weekend.

Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, travel to London in good form after a 1-0 La Liga win over Osasuna. Diego Simeone's team bounced back from their opening loss to Liverpool by thrashing Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 last time out in Europe. However, their away record remains a concern, with no victories on the road this season.

This clash pits Arsenal's slick, disciplined football against Atletico's trademark grit and structure. Both teams are strong defensively, but Arsenal's home form could just make the difference in what promises to be a close and high-quality European contest.

Arsenal vs. Atletico Madrid: Predicted starting XI and latest team news

Arteta's side avoided any new injuries in their win over Fulham, but Piero Hincapie remains a slight doubt despite returning to training after a groin issue.

Arsenal are still without Noni Madueke, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, all sidelined with knee problems.

Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi will have to watch their discipline, as a booking on Tuesday would see them suspended for the next European game. Arteta could rotate his squad, with Ben White, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Gabriel Martinelli pushing for starts.

Arsenal predicted starting XI (4-3-3, right to left):  Raya (GK) — White, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly — Eze, Zubimendi, Rice — Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli

Injured:  Hincapie (groin, doubt), Madueke (knee), Odegaard (knee), Havertz (knee), Jesus (knee)
Suspended:  None

Simeone will likely be without Nico Gonzalez after the winger suffered a head injury against Osasuna, although he has travelled with the squad.

His potential absence opens the door for Giuliano Simeone, Thiago Almada, Javi Galan or Conor Gallagher to fill in on the left side.

Midfielder Johnny Cardoso remains out with an ankle injury, while defender Clement Lenglet is back in contention after serving a domestic suspension.

Atletico Madrid predicted starting XI (4-4-2, right to left):  Oblak (GK) — Llorente, Le Normand, Lenglet, Ruggeri — Simeone, Barrios, Gallagher, Almada — Griezmann, Alvarez

Injured:  Nico Gonzalez (head injury, doubt), Cardoso (ankle)
Suspended:  None
