Manchester United are back in the market for a new forward — and fast. With Marcus Rashford off to Barcelona on loan, the Red Devils suddenly look short on options up front.

Rasmus Hojlund remains the only natural No.9 at Old Trafford. Joshua Zirkzee, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha can fill in, but neither is seen as the main man for that role.

And with a long season ahead, manager Ruben Amorim reportedly wants another striker who can hit the ground running.

That’s where Randal Kolo Muani comes in. The French striker is said to be on United’s radar, with reports from Italy (via Corriere dello Sport) claiming PSG are ready to offload him — at a discount.

Kolo Muani joined the French giants for a huge fee in 2023, but he hasn’t found his feet in Paris. Now, PSG are reportedly open to a loan with an obligation to buy next summer.

The total deal could be worth around £44 million, but United would only need to pay £8.7 million upfront. In a summer where cash has been tight at Old Trafford, that’s a tempting offer.

Should Man United sign Randal Kolo Muani?

At 26, Kolo Muani still has plenty to offer. He struggled at PSG, but his numbers tell a different story. Even during a tough season, he averaged 0.76 goal contributions per 90 minutes (via Transfermarkt).

That’s more than what United’s main attackers managed last year. For context, Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho had fewer contributions per 90. Even Hojlund, the club’s current No.9, managed just 0.22.

Kolo Muani has also proved his quality in Germany. At Eintracht Frankfurt, he averaged nearly a goal or assist every game.

That form made PSG splash around €95 million on him. Now, United might be getting a striker with that same potential — at less than half the price.

Juventus are also reportedly interested, but their financial issues may give United the edge. If Amorim wants a strong backup or even a starter to share the load with Højlund, Kolo Muani could be the right fit.
