Harry Maguire will reportedly reject a staggering £500,000 [$667, 687] weekly salary from Saudi Arabia if Manchester United offer him a new contract at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 32-year-old defender is in difficult spot, with his contract expiring in June next year, and Saudi Pro League clubs showing interest with massive financial offers.

Maguire can negotiate with foreign clubs starting January but his priority remains staying in Manchester, if the Red Devils offer him a suitable deal.

United paid Leicester City £80m [$106m] for Maguire back in 2019, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made him the world's most expensive defender, and that record fee has brought enormous pressure and scrutiny which has followed Maguire through 253 appearances at the club over six seasons.

Ruben Amorim has used Maguire sparingly this season, with just two Premier League starts and four substitute appearances, which shows the manager's preference for other options. United officials activated a one-year contract extension on him this summer.

According to the report, United are considering offering Maguire a new long-term contract, with discussions expected to take place in the coming weeks.
