New signing reveals his exact reason for joining Chelsea image

Chelsea have done great business in this summer transfer window, both in terms of signing and selling players.

The Blues have a great understanding of when to sell a player as most of the time they manage to secure the best value out of their stars.

The reigning Club World Champions transformed their forward line with a complete overhaul of attackers and the latest name to that was Alejandro Garnacho, who made the move to West London from Manchester United.

The Argentine winger is coming off an extremely controversial spell at Old Trafford where he fell off with manager Ruben Amorim and ultimately, they decided to sell him, benefitting all parties.

The Man United youth academy graduate has joined the Blues for a transfer fee of £40 m ($54m) and has signed a whopping seven-year contract.

Following the move, the youngster shared his feelings and revealed his intentions of moving to Stamford Bridge leaving his boyhood club.

"These types of moments give you the taste, and you want to keep winning," Garnacho told in an interview with Chelsea's media team. "When you get to a final, you want to score goals and win the trophy. This is my mentality.

"I have a winning mentality. I have passion and a big personality. It’s a natural fit with a club like Chelsea, which have just won the Club World Cup.

"Chelsea are at the top now, and it’s important to fight for the club like the fans deserve. I watched the Club World Cup, and to join the world champions is special – it means we’re the best team in the world!

"It’s not common to have played a lot of games at this age, but it has helped me a lot. I’m only 21 and I have a lot of experience from these different types of games, stadiums and moments."

What was Enzo Fernandez's role in Garnacho's move to Chelsea?

Despite his off the field antics, Garnacho is an extremely talented winger as he has featured in 144 appearances for the Red Devils and returned with 26 goals.

The 21-year-old has a lot of experience of playing in the Premier League, which will massively benefit Enzo Maresca.

While speaking about a lot of things, the Argentina international also shared, his compatriot Enzo Fernandez's role in convincing him to move to Chelsea.

"I spoke to Enzo during the summer because he had been asking a lot of times, ‘When are you coming, when are you coming?’

"I kept saying that he had to be patient, and we would play together. He texted me when I joined to say congratulations, and I can’t wait to see him and play together. I had to be patient too, but now I can’t wait to get started."

Lastly, the young winger, who is known for his flair, pace, dribbling, progressive runs and overall athleticism, called former Chelsea icon, Eden Hazard as one of his idols.

"I loved Eden Hazard. He was one of my idols and a big reason why I watched and supported Chelsea a bit when I was younger. He was such an incredible player, playing in the same position that I wanted to, coming inside, scoring goals – he was crazy good."

Garnacho will have to wait to make his debut with the Blues due to the international break. One can expect him to play a part in Chelsea's away trip to Brentford on September 13.
