Arsenal are targeting Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, according to a new report from The Times. The Gunners are actively looking to sign attacking reinforcements this summer.

The Germany international will be out of contract at the end of this month (May 2025), and therefore, the North Londoners have stepped up their interest to sign him on a free transfer.

Sane was reportedly close to signing a new contract with the Bavarians, but his sudden decision to join up with super agent Pini Zahavi means that he is now demanding a better deal in order for him to put pen to paper.

Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Sane from their time at Manchester City, so a reunion at North London is possible.

The 29-year-old had netted 25 goals and provided 30 assists in 90 appearances for City across four seasons. It was a fruitful spell for the young winger who won multiple trophies under Pep Guardiola's tutelage.

Arsenal's arch rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, were reportedly already given the chance to sign the German winger.

Where could Sane end up this summer?

The North London outfit are keen to add attacking reinforcements this summer. Their first-choice winger was Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams, but due to the high transfer fee and competition from Real Madrid, it may be wise for them to consider a move for Sane if he makes himself available in the market.

The Germany international has been a mainstay on the left flank for club and country. He has raked up 61 goals and 55 assists in 220 games for the Bavarians.

Therefore, the Bundesliga champions are doing their best to hold onto him. As per reports via Sky Sports Germany, Bayern chief Max Eberl and Sane's agent Zahavi had a meeting in Munich where they discussed the 29-year-old's future.

It will be a jackpot for Arsenal if they manage to land Sane, as the 29-year-old has the experience and the attributes to shine in North London. He could easily be an upgrade over Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left.

His blistering pace, dribbling, and crossing ability make him an ideal player for Arsenal's system. However, the German winger is yet to decide his future, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.
