Lewis Hamilton's beloved bulldog Roscoe is going through a major medical emergency.

On Friday, September 26, the 40-year-old Formula One icon made a heartfelt post on X, asking fans to pray for his 12-year-old canine companion.

"Thanks so much for the love and support. Please keep Roscoe in your thoughts and prayers," the Ferrari driver posted, alongside a selfie of himself laying with his arm wrapped around Roscoe in what appeared to be a  veterinary office.

Roscoe was receiving medical treatment with a tube coming out of his mouth in the photo.

Lewis Hamilton shares emotional update as Roscoe battles pneumonia complications

In a second post shared to Instagram, Hamilton revealed that Rosoe is currently suffering from complications due to pneumonia.

"Roscoe caught pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe. He was admitted into hospital and sedated to calm him while they did checks on him and during the process his heart stopped," he wrote. "They managed to get a heartbeat back and now he’s in a coma. We don’t know whether he will wake from this."

He continued, "Tomorrow we’ll try to wake him up. I’m by his side and want to thank you all for your prayers and support.

Fans were quick to flood the comment section with uplifting messages, with one commenting, "He’s been such a good boy and touched so many people’s lives! You’ve been an awesome Bulldog dad!"

"The life of a dog dad is full of joy; few will understand the unconditional love from a dog. Look over your boy, mate. You two are in our thoughts and prayers," another wrote.

"I just know he’s dreaming of tennis balls, all our thoughts are with Roscoe and his recovery," someone else said.

"Roscoe’s got the VIP hospital suite—hope he wakes up demanding a Ferrari pit crew massage," another added.

Hamilton, who doesn't have a wife or children yet, is frequently seen with his beloved bulldog, who has his own Instagram account with 1.3 million followers. The seven-time Formula One champion recently told "Vogue's" sister outlet, "Dogue," that he knew Roscoe was meant to be with him when he was searching through thousands of dogs to find his perfect pet.

"He is the kindest, such a sweetheart. Anyone can approach him from anywhere. He has never attacked anyone ever," Hamilton told the outlet. "He’s super, super easy. He doesn’t go crazy around other dogs. He’s just probably the most mellow dog there is, really, until he sees a bowling ball or football."

Hamilton will not participate in Pirelli’s tire tests in Italy today amid Roscoe’s worrying condition, per Sports Illustrated.
