The pressure is ramping up on England with Australia 2-0 up in the Ashes series with three Tests remaining.
Victory for Australia in the third Test in Adelaide would seal Ashes series victory, while a draw would ensure Australia will at least retain the Ashes urn.
Adelaide's famous Adelaide Oval venue will host the match that commences on Wednesday, December 17 and be played on five days through to Sunday, December 21.
The match will be a standard day Test match after the last few Adelaide summer Tests have been day-night games.
