For the second time in a month, a Sam Konstas first class innings has been undone early by Scott Boland.

In the first Sheffield Shield match since Australia's Ashes squad announcement last week, where Konstas was left out and Boland was included, the veteran bowler was again able to dismiss the young batsman for the second time this season.

Last month, Boland trapped Konstas in front of the wickets for a four-ball duck.

The usually-explosive Konstas was more patient in the first innings of Victoria and New South Wales' second clash of the 2025-26 Shield season, but he would only last 59 balls before being bowled by Boland for a score of 12.

It's been a difficult start to the first class season for Konstas, which ultimately cost him a spot in Australia's squad for the upcoming Ashes tour against England.

Heading into this round's Shield clash against Victoria, Konstas had only managed one half-century in six first class innings this season.

Boland, meanwhile, is expected to help spearhead Australia's attack in the first test against England, which commences later this month.
