India will have little time to regroup after a close defeat to South Africa as they take on defending champions Australia in the 2025 Women's World Cup on Sunday in Vishakhapatnam.

After two big wins to start their campaign, India suffered a setback against South Africa on Thursday. Having posted a healthy 251, the hosts looked in control of the match as they reduced South Africa to 81 for five. However, the SA lower order stood strong and an unbeaten 84 from Nadine de Klerk guided the team to a three-wicket win.

Seven-time champions Australia currently lead the standings, while India is third with four points from three matches.

Australia is unbeaten in the tournament after winning their clashes against New Zealand and Pakistan, on either side of their abandoned match against Sri Lanka.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

India vs. Australia predicted lineups, team news

India has no fresh injury concerns going into the marquee clash. Despite the loss to South Africa, it is unlikely that the Indian team will tinker with the playing XI from the previous match.

The hosts, who are one of the pre-tournament favourites, will need their top order to fire if they are to challenge Australia. They have a steady opening partnership in Pritika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana and should continue with that. Richa Ghosh proved her value in the batting order with a quick-fire 94 against South Africa.

India's strong spin department, led by Deepti Sharma, will prove crucial against the Aussies.

India predicted XI: Pratika Rawal, Smriti Mandhana, Harleen Deol, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, Richa Ghosh (wk), Sneh Rana and Shree Charani.

Despite a top-order collapse against Pakistan, Australia are expected to take the field with only one change from the side that managed to wrap up an easy win in Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Sophie Molineux is expected to step back into the side in place of Tahlia McGrath.

Australia predicted XI: Alyssa Healy (c & wk), Phoebe Litchfield, Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Annabel Sutherland, Ashleigh Gardner, Sophie Molineux, Megan Schutt, Kim Garth, Alana King, Darcie Brown.
