Axed opener Sam Konstas will have the chance to face England after all later this month, named in the Prime Minister's XI to take on Ben Stokes’ side ahead of the second Ashes Test in Brisbane.
The two-day pink-ball match will be played in Canberra from November 29-30 as the England side prepares for the day-night Test at the Gabba beginning on December 4.
20-year-old Konstas is joined in the squad by three of his U19 World Cup winning teammates from 2024—Charlie Anderson, Oliver Peake and Hugh Weibgen.
At the other end of age spectrum, 34-year-old Victorian Peter Handscomb will captain the 13-man squad, no doubt keen to press his own claims for a Test recall after making a strong start to the current Sheffield Shield season, averaging 43.75 with the bat.

Peter Siddle, 40, will also provide experience in the traditional tour match to be played at Manuka Oval.
“This match has a rich history within the broader men’s program, and this year will be especially exciting with the men’s Ashes underway at that point,” Australian chair of selectors George Bailey said.
“It’s a chance to build depth, reward performance, and provide valuable exposure and experience against international competition.”
