With the 2025-26 Ashes drawing to a conclusion in Sydney, it’s only natural for the gaze to shift to the horizon.
Given Australia already boasts one of the oldest sides Test cricket has ever seen, it’s fair to expect several key squad changes by the time the game’s oldest foes next do battle for the Ashes urn.
First up is the one-off 150-Year Anniversary Test in Melbourne next March, followed closely by the traditional five-Test away series during the 2027 English summer.
The next home Ashes series happens in 2029-30 where the Australian side is likely to look very different from the one that’s currently doing battle at the SCG.
