Bad news for the cricket fans in the United States of America as the International Cricket Council (ICC) have suspended the United States of America Cricket (USAC) with immediate effect.
ESPNCricinfo reports that the decision was taken by the ICC Board after an online meeting on Tuesday. The decision comes as a huge blow for cricketers in the US, as the US cricket team were taking short strides to establish their name in the world of cricket.
Only a year ago, the US national team created history by beating an ICC full member in an ICC competition for the first time in their history, as they beat Asian Pakistan in the group stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup, held in the US and West Indies.
Why did ICC suspend USA Cricket?
While the exact reason is yet to be made public, Cricinfo reported that the decision came after ICC had issued a warning the USAC during their Annual General Meeting in Singapore in July and directed them to hold free and fair elections and carry out "comprehensive" governing reforms.
What did USAC say on the suspension?
As ICC are yet to officially communicate the order, USAC chairman Venu Pisike told Cricinfo that there has been "no communication" from the world governing body.

Will USA take part in the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka?
The Cricinfo report further claims that the suspension on USAC will not impact the US cricket team's participation in the T20 World Cup next year, which will kick off in February and will be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka.
