Boycott delivers hilarious Christmas Eve Ashes sledge, ‘Should have picked Cinderella’ image

Sir Geoffrey Boycott is no fan of Bazball.

That fact has been very well established in recent times.

However, despite serving up legendary doses of pessimism in his Ashes column for The Telegraph in the UK, it seems Boycott still has a sharp sense of humour—or at least a well-known parody social media account mimicking the 85-year-old Yorkshireman does.

“England should have picked Cinderella for the fourth Test,” @SirFredBoycott posted on X on Christmas Eve to the amusement of cricket fans around the world.

“At least she knows when to leave the ball.”

Ouch.

The scathing comments are especially pointed given the retention of compulsive edger Ben Duckett at the top of the England batting order, despite scoring just 97 runs at an average of 16 so far this series.

Thanks for the entertainment Sir Fred, whoever you are—and Merry Christmas to you Sir Geoffrey from all your fans here in Australia.
