Australia has made a shock addition to its Ashes XI for the second Test against Brisbane - but it isn't Pat Cummins.
Fast bowler Michael Neser will play his third career Test, with Cummins put on ice until at the least third Test - as Steve Smith completed the captain's pitch inspection at the Gabba.
Neser comes into the side for spinner Nathan Lyon, with Australia sending out a four-pronged pace attack in Brisbane.
It has been confirmed Usman Khawaja will miss the Brisbane Test through injury, with Travis Head being promoted to opener and Josh Inglis slotting in to Head's no.5 batting position.
