Australia has been holding the urn since 2017-18 and hasn't lost a home series against England since 2010-11; however, following the defeat against the Proteas at the Lord's, the English have raised their hopes to finally reclaim the urn.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan was one of them, who has now made it a habit to give out his early predictions before any major series. Check out his feelings about England's chances of beating Australia in the upcoming Ashes.

England to use South Africa's blueprint to beat Australia in Ashes Tests?
While analysing the final between Australia and South Africa at the Lord's, Vaughan pointed out that the Aussies squandered the opportunity to retain their title despite a 74-run lead in the first innings.
"With my England hat on, it was very interesting to watch Australia lose this [WTC final] game having had such a healthy first-innings lead."

"The first thing I would say is that just because they lost this week doesn’t mean they will be an easy beat for England in the Ashes. I’m not getting giddy about it. But South Africa have provided a reminder that they can be beaten," he felt.
England can exploit Australia's vulnerable batting: Vaughan
The former captain also observed the vulnerability of the Australian top three of Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Cameron Green, where two of them are out of position and sort of uncomfortable, while calling their pace attack relentless.
"I think England can take real heart from Australia’s batting performance in this Test. It looks vulnerable. Usman Khawaja against fast bowling looks very close to the end, and he is joined in the top three by Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green, two guys batting out of position," he further said.
"Australia’s bowlers are still outstanding. It’s a relentless seam attack, with Cummins a simply outstanding seamer. The one thing you would say about the attack, though, is that it is old," Vaughan concluded.
