ICC Cricket World Cup Final 2019: Fixtures, tickets, updates, squads, and how to watch image

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be the twelfth edition of the quadrennial tournament and is scheduled to be hosted by England and Wales from May 30 to July 14.

It will be the first World Cup to be contested without all of the Test playing nations present, with the ICC tightening the competition down from 14 to 10 teams.

As the hosts, England earned automatic qualification alongside the top seven other teams in the ODI rankings as of September 30 2017. Afghanistan and the West Indies won the two remaining spots through the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Australia and New Zealand co-hosted the most recent instalment of the Cricket World Cup back in 2015, with Michael Clarke's Aussies victorious over Brendon McCullum's Black Caps.

The 2019 tournament will mark the fifth time that the Cricket World Cup will be held in England and Wales, following the 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999 tournaments.

PRIZE MONEY FOR CRICKET WORLD CUP 2019

Yes, there is prize money on offer - the ICC confirmed a US$10 million prize pool for the tournament.

The winning team will purse US$4 million, while the runners-up will receive US$2million.

Semi-finalists will grab US$800,000, while teams will earn US$40,000 for every group stage match win.

FIXTURE FOR CRICKET WORLD CUP 2019

The full schedule of the 2019 Cricket World Cup was revealed in July 2018.

The tournament's opening match will be played between hosts England and South Africa at The Oval on 30 May.

The format for the tournament will be a single group of ten teams - yes, one group of ten teams - with each team playing the other nine teams once.

The top four teams will progress to a knockout stage of semi-finals, which will form a final.

This means a total of 48 matches will be played - down from 49 in 2015, when 14 teams participated in the tournament.

A similar format was previously used in the 1992 Cricket World Cup, also held in Australia and New Zealand, with Pakistan defeating England in the final.

WHO WILL AUSTRALIA PLAY AT CRICKET WORLD CUP 2019?

Australia's first World Cup hit-out will be against Afghanistan on Saturday, June 1 in Bristol.

Steve Smith and David Warner will return from their 12-month bans after the 15-man squad was announced, while Peter Handscomb was the unlucky in-form Aussie to make way.

The Aussies will play three day/night matches, while England, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka won't play any day-night matches in the round-robin phase.
