Jaron Ennis vs. Uisma Lima is on October 12 from the Xfinity Mobile Arena. The main card starts at 11 a.m. AEST and the main event should begin around 1:30 p.m. AEST, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
Ennis (34-0) is a former IBF, WBA, and Ring welterweight champion. The 28-year-old from Philadelphia held interim IBF gold until Terence Crawford got stripped of the belt. After the realization that a Crawford fight may not come to fruition, Ennis has moved on.
The fight is for the interim WBA super welterweight title. A win could result in "Boots" facing Vergil Ortiz Jr. in 2026. First, he must get past Lima. Then, his potential takeover at 154 can truly begin.
"Me moving up and being at 154, it’s definitely better," Ennis told The Ring. "I feel I’m gonna be better. I feel like I’ll be stronger, I’ll be faster, I’ll be sharper. My IQ will be better. Everything gonna be on point."
Lima (14-1) has ten wins via knockout. The Angolan is ranked high in the WBA’s rankings and looks to cause an upset in front of Ennis’ family and friends.
"Now is my time to show my skills and everything. I think this fight is coming in the best year for me because I’m almost my prime, 32. I’m confident and people will see this," Lima said to Matchroom Boxing via Bad Left Hook.
