Tim Tszyu's upcoming fight with Anthony Velazquez in Sydney could see the date moved in the wake of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.

A press conference featuring both fighters in Darling Harbour on Monday was cancelled with attention in the city on the aftermath of the sickening incident at Australia's most famous beach.

Boxing insiders believe the fight - which is scheduled for Wednesday night at the TikTok Entertainment Centre - could be postponed out of respect to the victims, reports Nine.

Sixteen people are confirmed dead after the terrorist attack, which occurred during a event for the Jewish community in a park at Bondi Beach.

What time is Tim Tszyu vs. Anthony Velazquez fight?

Tim Tszyu's main event fight with Anthony Velazquez is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17 at the TikTok Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia.

The main event will begin around 10:30 p.m. AEDT - depending on how long the undercard fights last for, with the entire card starting at 7:00 p.m. AEDT.

Tim Tszyu vs. Anthony Velazquez is on December 17 from the TikTok Entertainment Centre in Sydney. The building can hold up to 8,000 people.

The main card starts at 7 p.m. AEDT and the main event should begin around 10:30 p.m. AEDT, depending on how long the undercard fights last.

Tszyu (25-3) held interim WBO super welterweight gold and was eventually elevated to the full-time champion. Following a bloody war with Sebastian Fundora, he got knocked out by Bakhram Murtazaliev. Recovering against Joseph Spencer, he would once again fall against Fundora.

Known as “SoulTaker,” the Sydney-born Tszyu attempts to rise back to prominence, literally and figuratively, after adopting the “Phoenix” nickname.

"December 17 is my chance to get back on track. The past eighteen months have tested me and humbled me, but coming home for this fight in Sydney has given me a new sense of clarity and purpose," Tszyu said via Nine.

"I'm not the same fighter, despite what critics may say. I'm sharper, hungrier, and more driven because of what I've gone through.”

Velazquez (18-0-1) is a former NABF champion who has won three fights in 2025. The American, 29, has 15 wins via knockout.
