Nelson Asofa-Solomona makes statement with KO on debut

Two-time NRL premiership winner Nelson Asofa-Solomona needed less than a round to emerge victorious on his professional debut, stopping another ex-footy player in Jeremy Latimore.

The towering Kiwi sounded a warning shot with an uppercut earlier in the round before landing the same punch shortly after, sending Latimore to the canvas and ending the bout.

NAS then confirmed his willingness to face any NRL player next.

Stevan Ivic does just enough versus Liam Taliva'a

(96-94 x2, 95-95)

The Australian heavyweight title remained in Stevan Ivic's possession after he claimed a majority decision victory over Liam Taliva'a.

Both guys had bright moments and it always looked a tough one to score, although Taliva'a was the busier of the pair for the bulk of the bout.

In the end, two judges saw it for Ivic by the narrowest of margins.

Liam Wilson crumples Rodex Piala in four

That famous Liam Wilson left hook did the damage again, this time sending Rodex Piala to the canvas via a savage body shot in the fourth round.

Piala was in agony and remained down for several minutes, highlighting the picture-perfect placement of the shot.

The Filipino fighter had some bright moments early and made Wilson work for the stoppage but the finish was emphatic for the local boy.

Max Reeves scores shutout win over Sony Abid

(60-54 x3)

Max Reeves proved too good for Frenchman Sonny Abid, taking out every round on all three cards to cruise to a points victory.

Abid stood up to some big shots late but had few answers for the length of Reeves.

Billy Polkinghorn returns from injury with a win

(60-54 x3)

Highly rated lightweight Billy Polkinghorn ended a layoff of more than 12 months with a one-sided points victory over a durable Jomar Paliwen.

The Essex-born Polkinghorn mixed up his shots well and Paliwen will certainly be feeling it tomorrow but, despite being outgunned, he fought through to the bell strongly.

Blake Wells overcomes Ainiwaer Yilixiati after head clash

(88-83, 88-84, 87-84)

Blake Wells and Ainiwaer Yilixiati were scheduled for 10 rounds but an accidental head clash early in the ninth opened up a nasty cut on the Chinese fighter's right eye, seeing the fight stopped and go to a decision.

Victoria's Wells eventually took out the IBF Pan Pacific title, following a cagey and strategic bout.

Jack Javed earns debut win over Zephy Vaotu'ua

(40-36 x3)

In a battle of professional first timers, Jack Javed emerged victorious via a convincing but entertaining unanimous decision.
