Who will walk out of the Frost Bank Center on December 6 holding gold when Isaac Cruz and Lamont Roach compete for the interim WBC super lightweight title?
Cruz (28-3-1) beat Rolando Romero in March 2024 to become the WBA super lightweight champion, but he lost the belt a few months later when he dropped a split decision to Jose Valenzuela. “Pitbull” has since won two straight and looks to go 3-0 in 2025.
“I’m preparing to be the best version of ‘Pitbull’ Cruz that there is and make sure that the fans who spend their money get the best show possible and leave enjoying it as much as I will,” Cruz said.
Roach (25-1-2) is the current WBA super featherweight champion. He was on a six-fight win streak before facing Gervonta Davis in March for the WBA lightweight title. The two fought to a draw in a contest marred by controversy. A rematch was discussed before plans changed.
Now, Roach attempts to once again win gold in another division against someone familiar with Davis.
“If you can’t withstand what I’ve got, then it’s gonna be a long night for you. If you’re ready, then it’s gonna be a great fight,” Roach said.
Additional gold is on the line on the Isaac Cruz vs. Lamont Roach undercard, while top contenders and rising stars look to impress.
