Just under seven months on from their initial encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and almost 35 years to the day from their fathers' first fight, Chris Eubank Jr. And Conor Benn will bring down the curtain on British boxing's most improbably enduring rivalry.

Chris Eubank Sr. And Nigel Benn's middleweight and super middleweight clashes in the early 1990s captured the attention of a sporting nation as Eubank secured a seismic victory at Birmingham's NEC before escaping with a draw at Old Trafford three years later.

For several reasons, a fascination with their irresistible enmity endured — from their contrasting characters to the fact that the Eubank-Benn battles came to symbolise British boxing's last hurrah as a terrestrial television sport, before it disappeared behind paywalls. Saturday's fight will be shown on DAZN pay-per-view and via the streaming giant's new 'Ultimate' subscription tier.

On Benn's side of the argument, there was also a sense of unfinished business after he was wronged on the scorecards in Manchester. 'Unfinished Business' is the promotional tagline fo this rematch between their son, which Eubank Jr. Won entirely uncontroversially via unanimous decision.

In April, both men excelled themselves in a gruelling battle, living up to their family name and rising above a build-up that lurched from utterly confected to outright unseemly. Benn's failed drug tests led to a proposed October 2022 meeting being ditched. By the time they finally got in the ring, there was a weariness with the whole affair, not to mention fears over some of boxing's gravest consequences being on the horizon.

It speaks volumes of Eubank Jr. And Benn that they rose above all of that to produce a captivating battle. Each insists this is the end of the family hostilities in the prize ring, with both intent on chasing world titles in different weight classes. But if Benn finally gets one on the board for him and his old man, who would bet against a rubber match?
