Jason Johannisen, who will forever hold a special place in the memory of Western Bulldogs fans, has been delisted by the club.

Johannisen, who turns 33 next month, won the Norm Smith medal in the club's drought-breaking premiership victory against the Swans in 2016.

He also featured in the 2021 grand final defeat to Melbourne, making 212 appearances for the Dogs after he was the 39th pick in the 2011 rookie draft.

A damaging defender who also spent time in the forward line during his career, his time at the Bulldogs is now over.

He is reportedly open to continuing his career elsewhere, according to Channel 7 reporter Mitch Clearly, and he may also move into coaching.

"Jason Johannisen has been delisted by the Western Bulldogs," Cleary tweeted. "The only Norm Smith medallist in club history.

"(The) writing was on the wall when the Dogs signed Connor Budarick.

"Still played 16 games this year (and is) open to playing on elsewhere."

Defender Budarick joined the Bulldogs in a trade with the Gold Coast Suns.

Johannisen joins the likes of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Taylor Duryea and Liam Jones in leaving the kennel in 2025.
