Harley Reid has made an eyebrow-raising comment about his West Coast Eagles future despite signing a new contract.
The 2023 No.1 draft re-signed at the Eagles in August until the end of the 2028 season even though he was linked with a move back to Victoria.
Speculation raged throughout his first two years at West Coast that Reid would seek a trade with the likes of Hawthorn and Essendon keen on the 20 year old.
But Reid decided to stay at the Eagles and spoke of his decision - giving an interesting quote about doing 'your time' when asked about his future.

“I think when you sit down with your close ones and your circle of trust, you try and find the right decision,” Reid told 9News Perth.
“But I think, either way, you’ve got to do your time. And for me, this wasn’t the right time, and I wanted to stay, and I look forward to seeing what happens.”
Reid spoke glowingly about his time at the Eagles and believes the team has a bright future in the coming years.
“Since the day I arrived in Perth, the West Coast Eagles members and fans have been so supportive of me and our team, and the future with our young squad is super exciting,” he said.
“Playing at Optus Stadium in front of our fans is an unbelievable experience, and I love representing the club.
“The support from our coaches and my teammates has been amazing over the last two years, and I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my game and helping the team climb back up the ladder.”
