Port Adelaide's list manager Jason Cripps has outlined what the Power will be looking at in the future as they look beyond this year's 'compromised' draft.
Port Adelaide has had a busy trade period so far, trading in Fremantle midfielder Will Brodie, Carlton small forward Corey Durdin, GWS's Jacob Wehr and 2026 second-round pick (Carlton).
However, Cripps has said the Power will look to 2026 and 2027 as they currently hold picks 49 and 85 in this year's national draft.
"We'll look to move Pick 49 over the next period or on draft night. We'll look to trade it into next year's draft," Cripps said on AFL Trade Radio.

"Our focus will be to load up with as much draft capital as we can for next year.
"Our strategy is to preserve our draft capital with what lies ahead with Academy players, and to have multiple picks in the 2026 and 2027 drafts.
"We're not as bullish on this year's draft because it's compromised. We want to get into next year's draft and have multiple picks."
The Power are trying to add potential number one pick Dougie Cochrane to their Next Generation Academy (NGA) and will need draft picks to bid on him.
Cochrane is the son of Power player Stuart, with brother Tom already on the list as he awaits the AFL's decision on whether he can be added to the Power's NGA.
There are also father-son selections and NGA selections that the Power will be aiming to consolidate picks for in 2027.
Cripps also added that Port Adelaide will be well prepared the next time St Kilda superstar Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is out of contract at the end of 2027.
"We would all love to bring in A Grade talent. Nasiah is a South Australian. We want to bring in homegrown talent, and we think we will be well prepared for when he is ready to make a decision next time."
Wanganeen-Milera signed a two-year deal with the Saints this year on a reported $2 million a year, which will expire at the end of the 2027 season.
