Many Port Adelaide fans adored Ken Hinkley during his coaching tenure at Alberton, which included dragging a helpless side from the bottom four into a team that made the finals seven times in 13 seasons.

But while Ken did a lot of good, just as many fans despised him.

Now there is a new era at Port Adelaide, and make no mistake about it - Port has moved on from Hinkley.

The Josh Carr era has begun and almost no remnants of Hinkley remain.

The most recent news of Tyson Goldsack departing Port Adelaide to return to Collingwood removes almost all history of Hinkley’s coaching department, with Carr the last man standing.

The departure of defensive coach Goldsack has been followed by the outgoing forwards coach Chad Cornes, assistant midfield coach Luke Kelly, development coach Jason Williams, and the obvious departure of senior coach Hinkley.

Carr has well and truly been given the keys and now has the opportunity to reshape Alberton as he sees fit.

The Power has added former Gold Coast senior coach Stuart Dew as its new midfield coach and senior assistant, Luke Webster will join from West Coast as defensive coach, Glenelg’s two-time SANFL premiership-winning coach Darren Reeves will join as contest and opposition analyst and Hawthorn’s Andy Collins will join as director of coaching.

Furthermore, long-time football boss and right-hand-man of Hinkley, Chris Davies, also has left Port for Carlton as the Power seek a new footy boss.

Many Power fans wanted change, and now they have received change in one of the most dramatic ways.

Now it is time for those fans to reap what they sowed, as Port has had a clean out from top to bottom.
