Kane Cornes, the former Port Adelaide club champion now turned media personality, left no words spared on his scathing comments about Port Adelaide recruit Ivan Soldo a few weeks ago.
“Can I just say - and I’m prone to the odd big statement - Ivan Soldo has been the worst recruit in Port Adelaide history,” Cornes said on AFL Trade Radio.
“There has not been a worse recruit. I wouldn’t go anywhere near Ivan Soldo if I was a club looking for any sort of ruckman,”
“You’ve got to factor in what he brings to the dressing room. I wouldn’t touch Ivan Soldo if you (co-host Sam Edmund) were rucking for me and I needed a ruckman.”

Soldo had the opportunity to respond to these comments this week on Channel 9 Adelaide.
“Putting people down and having his own opinion is his lane,” said Soldo.
“It doesn’t really affect me too much,”
“I don’t know if it’s personal or not but he’s very opinionated and he gets a lot of clicks, so he can go for his life.”
Cornes, who is never far from the centre of attention in the AFL media world, reassured his listeners on SEN this morning that his comments were “not personal,” but rather “almost factual.”
