More than a year after parting ways with West Coast, Adam Simpson's next step has been revealed.
Months after withdrawing from the race for the vacant Melbourne coaching job, Simpson has accepted a role at Carlton.
Simpson's role, while not officially announced by the club as of yet, is expected to operate similar to a director of coaching position on a part-time basis, according to Seven's Mitch Cleary.

Simpson will retain his existing media commitments and the Blues have no issue with him speaking objectively about the club publicly.

It will see him provide support for Michael Voss, who is out of contract at the end of 2026, and considered to be coaching for his career next season.

After 10 years at the helm, Simpson finished up at the Eagles midway through the 2024 season. He coached them to the 2018 premiership in an iconic five-point win over Collingwood.
He had since become an analyst for Fox Footy and SEN, although his new appointment at the Blues is not expected to forbid him from continuing to perform those duties.
