GWS Giants have secured another piece of their future, with emerging forward-midfielder Toby McMullin inking a fresh two-year extension that will keep him in orange and charcoal until at least the end of the 2028 AFL season.
The 21-year-old was already contracted for 2026, but the new deal underlines the club’s faith in his growth and impact.
McMullin’s name had occasionally surfaced in speculative trade chatter, yet this commitment effectively takes him off the table as the Giants continue to lock away their young core.
A growing influence under Kingsley
McMullin, affectionately nicknamed “Muff” by teammates, has become a dependable contributor in Adam Kingsley’s setup. After debuting in 2023, he added another 25 games across the next two seasons, blending his trademark speed and agility with sharper ball use through the middle and forward lines.
Giants Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, said the extension was both a reward and an investment.
“Toby’s development over the past three years has been really encouraging,” McCartney said. “He’s an exciting young player who brings great energy and effort to everything he does. His speed, power and strong decision-making skills make him a valuable part of our side.”
McMullin joins fellow youngsters Finn Callaghan, Aaron Cadman, and Connor Idun in recommitting this year, a clear signal that GWS’s next generation is buying into Kingsley’s long-term vision.
