State leagues exhibition games set for AFL Gather Round 2026 image

Two extra games have been added to the AFL Gather Round festival calendar for 2026, with the VFL and SANFL competitions set to compete in two representative matches.

The games will see the best players from both league's men's and women's competitions face off for state bragging rights.

It is the second straight year the fixtures will take place.

In 2025, the VFLW side defeated the SANFLW side by 27 points, will the VFL men's team similarly claimed bragging rights, defeating the SANFL men's side by 11 points.

With Gather Round running from Thursday, April 9 2026 to Sunday, April 12, the games are slated for Saturday, April 11.

The women's representative match will take place at 12:00 p.m. Local time, while the men's will follow at 2:30 p.m. Local time.

Both matches will take place at Stratarama Stadium in Glenelg.
