St Kilda are believed to be closing in on winning the battle for GWS defender Leek Aleer.
The Saints are speculated to want to sign the 23-year-old defensive tall, who was a back-up defender at the Giants until playing the last seven matches consecutively.
Aleer's contract expires at the end of this season but he isn't a free agent, meaning St Kilda will have to trade for the 194cm key back, if he opts to nominate the Saints.
According to Tom Morris, it is 'inevitable' that Aleer will want to join St Kilda, with the large gap between the Saints and Giants' contract offers.

“Giant Leek Aleer looks increasingly likely to request a trade to St Kilda at the end of the season,” Morris said on Nine.
“He’s weighing up a two-year $800,000 offer in total up against a four-year $3 million deal from St Kilda.
“That’s a $2.2 million difference across the life of the deal. Unless the Giants up the proposal, a move to Moorabbin now appears almost inevitable.”
Aleer has found himself behind defensive stars Sam Taylor, Jack Buckley and Harry Himmelberg as tall defenders at the Giants in recent times.
But an injury Taylor and shift of Himmelberg up on to a wing has seen Aleer play the last seven matches in the GWS senior team.
It's shaping up to be a busy player movement period for the Saints, who are confident on signing Carlton's Tom De Koning as a free agent.
The club is also hoping to secure the re-signings of three crucial players already at the club in Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Marcus Windhager and Max Hall.
St Kilda has lost five game in a row and they will attempt to stop that streak when they head to Geelong on Sunday afternoon.
However the Saints haven't won at Geelong's GMHBA Stadium since Round 10, 2009 - over 26 years ago.
