REVEALED: When Dustin Martin will decide his 2018 future image

In-demand Richmond gun Dustin Martin will wait until the week before the finals to make a decision on his 2018 future, according to his manager Ralph Carr.

Speculation about Martin's future has continued to rage - with the 26-year-old's value likely to have risen after inheriting Brownlow Medal favouritism because of Patrick Dangerfield's suspension.

Carr revealed Martin's plan was always to make a call at the end of the season and the midfielder hadn't indicated otherwise.

"As I said last time, Dustin said he would deal with it at the end of the year. I am really just honouring his request," Carr told The Age.

"At the moment we are doing just what we should be doing as a manager, that is seeing it through as per Dustin’s request.

"But he always said at the end of the season. I dare say that’s at the end of the home-and-away season, I would think.

"It’s in Dustin’s court - I am sure at the right time he will say to me: ‘Right, we are ready, let’s review it’."

Martin has played 18 games for the Tigers in 2017 to add to his 171-game tally.

He has averaged 30.1 disposals and kicked 24 goals so far this season.
