Nick Daicos' father Peter stormed out of Collingwood's E.W Copeland Awards night following a speech from coach Craig McRae.
Peter was seen taking his tie off and leaving the Magpies function shortly after McRae's highly-publicised words, reports Tom Morris on AFL Trade Radio.
The reason for Peter's departure is not known or whether it was related to McRae or the fact son Nick would finish second in the club's best-and-fairest award.
McRae controversially had a light-hearted quip about Nick finishing second in the Brownlow Medal to Matt Rowell - which was ironic when the Magpies star placed second to Darcy Cameron in the E.W Copeland trophy.

"He (Nick Daicos) came runner-up in the Brownlow Medal again. Maybe a few more 16 disposal games might get you there next year," McRae said in a speech at the event.
"That's cheeky Fly coming out."
Peter was then observed departing the awards venue shortly after with the reasons still unknown.
Despite being hot favourite the last two seasons, Nick has finished second consecutively in the Brownlow Medal behind winners Patrick Cripps and Rowell.
He also finished third in 2023 - only two votes behind winner Lachie Neale.
Nick did win the Copeland Trophy in 2024 but was pipped by brother Josh in 2023 and Cameron in the recent count.
