Former St Kilda captain and legend of the club Nick Riewoldt had slammed clubs for catering too much for players during the best and fairest and trade season.
The comments come just a day after Collingwood coach Craig McRae said the Magpies would look at how their best and fairest is structured after star Nick Daicos came second.
McRae also said that if Daicos had 'a few more 16-disposal games' he could win the best and fairest next year, which was seen as a swipe at Matt Rowell, who won the Brownlow, but the Pies coach clarified that he was talking about the voting system.
Riewoldt gave his view on the situation surrounding the Magpies' best and fairest and the trade period as a whole with co-hosts Mick Molloy and Titus O'Reily on Triple M's Mick in the Morning.

Riewoldt: “Craig McRae has come out saying that he is potentially looking at changing the best-and-fairest voting because Nick Daicos didn’t win…”
Titus: “… if you’re Darcy Cameron, you’re looking at this going, ‘Hang on, I won!’, and [Collingwood] is basically saying, ‘You didn’t deserve to win.’
Riewoldt: “It’s a strange one… this is a bit of a climate that we’re living in now. There are club captains everywhere putting up their hands [for trades], there were whispers early in the week of Nick Daicos testing the market and talk around trade week; this all looks to me like pandering to the players.”
Titus: “It’s like a Grade 5 play and everyone is auditioning, and the parents are complaining.”
Riewoldt: “Well, the parents were complaining in this situation.”
Molloy: "Sore loser."
